As governments head towards fiscal repair, every dollar spent in the built environment must return value to government, communities, and the planet. It was great to see the enthusiasm by members to several new initiatives in 2023 but also to have a reaffirmation of the work that we have undertaken and underway.ĭigital enablement improves productivity, sustainability, and reduces costs while increases project quality, and for these reasons ABAB is committed to driving Australasian consistency in the adoption of BIM. We started the year with a new strategic direction building on the previous seven years of commitment and contribution. She will also discuss the recent developments with Microsoft's Viva Topics which is using AI to discover the knowledge buried within the organisation and surfacing it.It was great to chair the Australasian BIM Advisory Board's first meeting of 2023 on 3 March. Recent statistics from a resources company noted that each year they lose 12,000 years of knowledge through attrition. Furthermore, companies store so much data that they don't know what insights they can glean from it. ![]() Have you heard this before? "Knowledge Management – oh yes we tried that but it didn't work.
