Update 17th Feb 2014: I’ve just got a new MacBook Pro with Mavericks preinstalled, and used the steps above but installed TrueCrypt 7.1a and MacFUSE 2.0.3. Legacy MacFUSE file systems are supported through the optional MacFUSE compatibility layer.
